21.3.08...

Dear readers,

This entry was jotted down on March 21st, 2008.

Been through a tough day of been waited, waited, walked, walked, waited, ate lunch, gaming and working. Spent a total of S$7.00 worth of ez-link card money today as well, normally this amount would last me a usual school week. Want to know how I spent those transportation fees and supported SBS and SMRT? Nah, not giving info, but just saying that I was “loitering” around Lavender and Bugis area.

That’s not the main point of today’s (or rather the latest) entry. I guess my life would forever be a Bruno, striving to be a Pablo. It’s not my fault, it’s my fate. I can’t change my fate, but I can change destiny. Fate is events (that are) facing, destiny is (the) facing events. I know that I will someday pass out shit and paste on wall (fa fen tou qiang).

Anyone can identify?

Then again, pondering about sad and depressing stuffs wouldn’t make you a much happier person, so why should I? Is it I don’t feel justified about the treatment I’m receiving? Or am I fluctuating the thoughts between “this is my life, I’ll accept it and be happy and not think about things” and “No, I know that the grass is green on the other side of life, I’ll break free of my comfort zone and pursue it”. Often the latter, but more often got demoralized back to the first.

Anyone can identify?

How about this, given this working (I mean literally working as in job) scenario: you’re working in this company for NINE years. I hate it. Salary has improved from a daily S$7.00 to $20.00. I hate it. Many many perks, you get a free lunch, and free drinks (yes almost unlimited, capacity based on your pai seh-ness). I hate it. You get to talk to customers and chat with them. I hate it. Oh most importantly you’re working for only 6 hours max. You must think, Paul Paul Paul are you dumb or what, such good deals and you’re complaining? I choose not to tell you the downside, you can go figure it out, from every good point there’s a bad one and more. It’s easy to state out at least 8 cons.

Anyone can identify?

[if]

If a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show the you I've come to know.
If a face could launch a thosand ships, then where am I to go?
There's no one home but you; you're all that's left me, too.

And when my love for life is running dry,
you come and pour yourself on me.

If a man could be two places at one time I'd be with you
tomorrow and today, beside you all the way.
If the world should stop revolving, spinning slowly down to die,
I'd spend the end with you and when the world was through,

then one by one the stars would all go out.
And you and I would simply fly away...

A touching song i've just learnt at VE. Hehe, hey there's many things you can learn from choir okay; it's not some girly thing as most "manly" guys think. About this song lyric, it starts off with a subtle tone of a lover showing that this other person is very special and different from the norm. And the lover has only the other person at his heart. It's possibly ended up in this relationship as the other person time to time encouraged the lover when he's down or depressed. The second verse proclaims his love for his lover in an "extreme" manner, being with his lover always together and even with the world would end (literally and not, maybe) he wouldn't spent it any other way then to be with his lover. The last chorus brings about a far away tone, as if death is near. However, even in this situation where, in the measure of glaxay and stars and universe, he ends of with that both the lovers would be united in another place, a happier one.

I almost cried...

This song really touched my heart. Is there someone out there willingly to do this for you? My heart cries out. Wish people around me know what i'm thinking. For example, like every time During dinnEr, always Need to do this do that uNtil so sianz, whY follow rules. lol.

By the way that paragraph was hitched. Haha, i so bo liao.

What I did today. Went to this company called Venture Era, sounds like a lan shop Denny says. Brought in by Kyou, who is still a SA (Sales Agent, no recommendation benefits). Sit through the welcome forum which should have started at 1500 but began only at 1545 =.= Still, the environment there was still very warm and friendly with everyone smiling and chatting and all. Hope we can do this job well, Denny worries that he can’t work because he’s a foreigner, rubbish, anyone can work in Venture Era as long as you put your heart into it. Its main way to earn money is by networking and by the Word of Mouth. Many incentives to consider as well and furthermore it’s a freelance job, means that I can do this whenever I want to.

Well that's it for the blog entry this time. Till next time chao.

Dear readers.

I hope you guys are having a relaxing holiday, as i was planning to. Hmmm, for some reason i keep thinking about 4th April. 4th April, what's so special about this day? Oh it's after my Voice Ensemble "choir exchange" programe with the Consonance, a group of enthusiatic young singers establishing themselves in their own stand. I hope it will be great meeting them again (yup i've crossed paths with them once and again). Back to that date, i do hope people remember that day. Should i expect much? Something like last year? I hope not. Where you're just glanced over by everyone once, not even noticing you. Not even your loved one. I do hope this year would be different with a different set of expectations and desire.

-Even if all i get is a kiss, a serious down to heart meaning. I'll be super happy-

Grrrr, what the hell with that line above. Haha, that's just me typing this in the middle of the night at 0245. Some habbit i have for blogging due to the inconvenient access to internet at home. Wonder when i'll get my laptop repaired since it's so inconvenient for every single person on this Earth, including me. When i'll be able to utilise the wireless network mIo has provided. When i'll get my hair cut. So many questions that i have to account for, yet so little answers available.

Whosh, that was some heavy blogging (no i don't mean literally). Something to be joyous about is that my (or rather our) little boy Clarence Chooi has been baptised last Saturday! Hurray for him. Yeah! Welcome to the family Clarence =D
Some words of wisdom i took from a book... Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional... it's a quite chim line that further enforces the statement Event + Reaction = Outcome. So everyone faces problems, it's how you deal with it that matters most. Whee felt much better already =D

Dam, the CD i bought in the IT fair. I realise that nobody i know has ever played that game before as it's a Malaysian game with a Malaysian server. Hmmm, what should i do with the CD?

Okay to the today news...
Today there was nothing special in particular. Just my normal weekly Monday. Woke up near noon, had breakfast then lunch almost within 3 hours. Made me quite bloated (sheesh, no wonder i'm not getting any skinner). Denny, Shawn and Shawn's cousin were meeting at Yio Chu Kang MRT station around 1530 to submit some enrolment forms to NYP (the institute their going into) by hand. So i decided (sleeply) to go there as well, since i've nothing at noon, my as well go there to wait for VE also. However I ended up playing my laptop and got engross again. For some reason Shuai Xun was there as well, and we chatted for awhile before the arrival for Siah Cai Yun. (Oh we were at Mac's). She's was noseyly reading her book, looking at the LCD screen at Mac's, and talking to both of us at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking. Then, Ping Ding, Benjamin, and finally Yi Tian came as well, wow some unarranged meeting (can see how much we like to have "meetings"). They were all planning to do some running today at the tracks before VE, hey didn't invite me oh man /=X Althought i thought that i was stuck on that place, they "forcefully" manage to persuade me over to hang out at club room instead =S Not being stupid waiting for them, i went to find out the whereabouts of Denny and his company. Apparently i ended up beside the tracks, a basketball court casually playing basketball. They were there, all so pro dude. Didn't want to play to make myself feel lousy. Haha. Luckly they have done all their admin stuffs, so after 15min of "basketball greetings" rushed back to meet VE peeps for dinner at Koufu.
Skipping the normal (not so interesting and something said by Mr Ong) VE session, after that the whole group of us (13 in total), guys- Kah Hong, Benjamin, Shuai Xun, Eric, Gerald, Me. Girls- Su Ee, Xiu Hui, Ping Ding, Yi Tian, Cai Yun, Emily. Unclassified: Nicholas. Haha, kidding Nicholas, no need get so angry =P Ordered dishes and ate with steam rice for some, while others had their own dishes (like mine and Kah Hong, Hor Fun). The supper added up to a grand total of $78.50, so excluding the own dishes it''ll be $62.50 / 11 ppl (cause Cai Yun and Emily didn't eat). Around $5.50 per pax. For me and Kah Hong would be $5.50 + $4.00 (Hor Fun) = $9.50. Expensive for us sia. But importantly is that we had fellowship with one another which is more important and money can't buy that =D So all in all i had a great time with you guys, the Voice Ensemble.

Greetings readers...

Some updates. Recently Singapore has been experiencing some rainy seasons, and i'm sure that this has affect most people. Be it NS training, outdoor activities, BBQ (especially that), and even jobs. But it seems that we're (Singaporeans) are always prepared for anything that comes in our way, even Mas Selemat or whatever terrorist invasion. That's why i'm proud to be a Singaporean, recognised world wide.

Geez, that's some patriotic sense left in me.
Oh yeah, i recently played this MMORPG called CABAL. This game has changed from close beta to open beta, which simply means that it is currently free for all to play until the official release of the game. Then must pay, as Singaporeans, i really would consider whether to continue a game that you need to pay, even how "nice" the game is. So i'll not bother about this until the free-to-play period is up. Haha, CABAL rocks (yeah it gets boring sometimes, as the game is based on quest to quest).

Next up something more serious...

How would you feel if someone just didn't bother about you and continues to irritate you? Have you ever felt this way before? I live by this feeling all the time while working tirelessly for the family business. Come on it's not that big deal right? (says to the person). It's not even giving way to me, it's COMMON COURTESY! Where has [your] manners gone to over the years? Has it came to an expiry date? Why can't [you] be less irritating and be more HUMAN for a change? I can't be bothered by [you] anymore. Are [you] trying to seek attention? Or are [you] just plain dumb. Can't [you] see that [we] are sufferring here, it has affect other people now as well. Look what [you] have done. I'm at my wits end, don't push me too far. You might regret dearly when you glimse my dark side. RAWR

Yeah, well there's always something that everyone faces that we would think that it's too hard to solve. Another way to look at it is taking every obstacle as a challenge, it may sound cliche to you. But it actually helps you to change your mindset on your circumstances. Remember: Event + Reaction = Outcome. An equation (i won't forget) that helps you to san si (think thrice) before acting harshly or in your spur of angerness (super common).

Ya dii ya dii, i know my blog has becoming more boring (and less grammatically and spellingly correct). You could say i'm developing into a more serious blogger, jotting down events that changes my life or is not a day to day. Of course, we do get to be lame at times (okay, i admit it, for me is most of the times) and joke around about each others' girlfriend blah blah blah. I'll leave that topic for another entry. Right now, i'm noting down my thoughts in a modern yet traditional method of keeping a diary, online.

God, give me the strength to carry this on. I know that I may not see any benefits from this, but i believe that you have the best in my heart and is in control of every single thing. Though i may not know what You are doing, i know that Your plans for me are for me to PROSPER. I also pray that You might grant me tolerance against my family as an obstacle to several stuffs in my life. I know that You are a wise God. I lay all these down in Your name. Amen.

Hey is it me or have i not blog for a long long time. Yeah, in blogger.com 1 wk = long long time. You have to keep up with the ever-changing IT technology and hardware thingy. So with that note i did went to the IT fair exhibition at Suntec City Convention Hall. The next picture would show you a scene there.
I was standing there, looking around or rather squeezing around. Just doing some window sight-seeing i guess. The only thing I bought was a MMORPG game called "Perfect World" for an offer price of $2.00! To my disappointment, it took up 2++GB on my hard disk =.= And i can't even access the server in school! Haha oh yeah, school banded these types of webbie.

Now i'm at level 6 of Suntec City Convention Hall taking the view of the third story. Yup, your eyes didn't deceive you. There was a playstation 3 try-out booth there. Okay, so the blue-ray disc technology will minimise piracy, but how far can that take them. Each disc costed around $60.00. That's a turn off, considering you buy a Pac-Man game for that amount.

oooo. Guess what's this? Ha ha, my fav! Pepper Lunch, munch munch =D Oh i think a few people i went out to eat there kinda got sick of it. Well, too bad for them. Wahaha, more pepper lunch for me. Hey wait, it's fattening =.= booooo. By the way, that's the cheapest dish on the menu- Beef rice ($8.50), and i just flood it with the honey garlic sauce :)

Oh oh oh, went to accompany my friend to a nearby clinic/hospital at Yio Chu Kang area. It's called Thye Hua Medical Centre or something like that. As he wasn't sure of the exact location. So poor me went to wait for him like 3hours there. Oh, he's coming into NYP next year so taking his ICA test lor. Yeah, the wait was painful not to mention he saw his friends and i saw mine. Ho ho.

Ah there he is on the right side. The place is cosy and comfortable, he had to undergo the blood and urine tests. Haha, not mentioning how the urine collection went, but it was fun seeing blood being taken out from another person. Wahahaha.

Some pics i took with my cell members hogging the PSP. The people in the pictures are Justin, Mark and Samuel. I'm sure you can figure out the order of the names... Oh man, i wanna get one too. Play out the functions and stuff. Well, price would drop drop drop... then i'll see.

Then went to a restaurant to eat. Er is one of my friend treat us this buffet. Four of us in total.

It's something like Seoul Gardens i think. Except better. The food cooked are in soup (you can choose the types), or you can order cooked food to eat.

Buffet allows you to order any food on the menu at a cap price paid at the end of the meal. Now how good is that offer yeah? I LOVE people who treats other people. Makes me feel so accepted. Lol.

Now blogging about one of my working day, just like any other day. So what exactly is any other day? One thing to point out, Paul's 101 guide to become an efficient Hawker =D Skill #1: to predict whether a potential customer wants to sit on a particlar table by judging their eye movement, the route they take and the food stall holders that touted them over. Okay i guess u're quite blurred now ba. An example a customer would 75% sit on a table if he/she keeps starring at that seat (determining whether the seat is clean anot), points to that table with his/her friends (means sit there lar), the menu is on the table (means order the food) and the stall holder keeps directing them to the table (prevents them from siam-ing), and they do not move about too much (fidgeting means not interested in whatever u're showing me). Yup, and the failure [rate] of 25% is when another friend(s) just moves off/ points to another location/ or say "no" to the current food ordered.

That concludes skill #1. I hope u had learned something new and understand how complex it is to be even an ordinary job as a hawker...

Yup, so that's it for my blog. Thank you for reading it =D Chao

Yo readers! Time for my normal update on blogger =D

Weee, never in my life felt so liberated! Exams are finally expired, nay i shall worry anymore. About the exam papers- the arrangement of the papers weren't too bad, considering the last paper being OPEN BOOK. Yeah man! So it's like Day4 after my last paper on thurs. So what have i did? Hold on, my blog and i'm gonna tell you...

On the last day of exams...
After exams, i slacked awhile at school's Macs (as usual) and then later around at 1815 made my way to Newton via MRT. Joined with Nicholas along the way out of NYP, haha and i thought we were late. The journey was tiresome with many people squeezing me (or us rather) during the Toa Payoh stop, for no reason. We made it there in another few minutes. Thankfully we weren't the last ones. There were Sheryl, Shi Pei, Winnie, Bao Zhu, Pauline, Yvvone, Jesslyn, Ping Ding and both of us (male). Ben, Kah Hong, Yi Tian, Xiu Hui and KenKen came soon after. Ordering food was okay, just that the seats are limited. Lucky we got a seat almost immediately as we strolled in, but it was a distance away from my stall. Hehe some difficulty. The main drink that day was obviously sugar cane less ice. Too bad Ping Ding wanted to add lemon so i had to incur an extra $0.50. Hoho. The (see)food totalled up to S$69.00, there's 7 of us at that table (we splitted to two) each of us contributed hesitantly S$10.00. Guess what we did with the remaining $1? Hehe of course none other than zhong ji mi ma, magic number in Chinese, Kah Hong won (underhand methods wor). Rattle and rattle group, noise making everywhere we go...

Walk and walk... we (the whole makan-ing session people) ended up at United Square area. We hanged out at the basement Mac (haha me and my affinity for Mac), which is not 24 jam. KenKen treated us S$0.60 ice cream! Barney wan sui!!! Aiyo, that mutated ice cream was brought upon by Benjamin Lee criminal no. 4567890. He shall be convicted to life-time of no-ice cream-eating. Wooo hooo... Power to the Spartians!

Oh yeah I also took these 2 pictures just after each other. Can see how fast the lights are changing yeah. I just love colourful lights =)

Oh last random picture of the day. Some "considerate" Singaporean that left this mess at Newton Hawker centre, just outside my stall >=( This is soooo not good for my image, not to mention my stall's. We should be more mindful of others, as the cliche goes "put yourselves in the shoes of others" if the shoes are too small just smack the person at BATA, or not. Well, you get the point. We had great funs living in this sad world. Haha, be cheerful ye'all!
