I had wanted to post something at first. Till i saw something. Something really sweet nobody had ever done (type) to me before. Oh my, i guess i've inherited the "kiasu" and "instant" urgings of Singapore...
Recently (okay lar, just now nia) finished a book called [On Speaking Well] by Peggy Noonan. This book is written in an interesting format. Not one of those Dummies book along the shelf. But in an almost autobiography manner of Peggy herself and her experience as a Speech Writter (job title in caps as now i really respect them). Even a anti-book person like me would be engross in that!
So here's something i've lifted from it (oops)...
[an eulogy to Diana]
Today is our chance to say thank you for the way you brightened our lives, even though God granted you but half a life. We will all feel cheated always that you were taken from us so young, and yet we must learn to be grateful that you came at all.
Only now that you are gone do we truly appreciate what we are without, and we want you to know that life without you is very, very difficult.
...
Indeed, to sanctify your memory would be to miss out on the very core of your being- your wonderfully mischievous sense of humor, with a laugh that bent you double, your joy for life transmitted wherever you took your smile, and the sparkle in those unforgettable eyes, your boundless energy which you could barely contain.
Yeah rather beauty ain't it? In a way i'm deeply moved (i'm a sentimental and emotional person too you know!) by the words Earl Spencer used. Right now, suprisingly, i came with a heart of frustration and anger but left with peace and calmness. As said, i'll never be angry at you. Ha ha!
Going for choir le! Oh my... need to memorise scores =.= Argh! Ha ha... jia youz for me. I'll update on my school stuff on the next post.
P.S. Your english really good lor, i don't think i can ever blog like you, and the way you express your feelings/thoughts =)
Signing out
